The Town of Verona is happy to announce that we are offering residents the opportunity to participate in the Mohawk Valley Hometown Heroes Program.
The program will open on February 1 and run through March 21, 2025 (first run for display on Memorial Day).
A second run of flags will be taken until May 28, 2025 and will arrive in time to display for the 4th of July.
Orders can be placed via paper application (see link below) and mailed to the listed address, or online at mohawkvalleyhometownheroes.com.
Space in each district (Verona - Main St., Verona Beach, New London, and Durhamville) is limited. With ten spaces open for each district in 2025, additional spots will open up in 2026 and so on. Flags will reflect “Verona Honors our Hometown Heroes” for all districts listed.
Residents will be responsible for the purchase of the flag; the Town will purchase the hanging brackets. The Town will store the banner for the 3-year term.
Each banner features the name, military branch, rank and years of service/war served, along with a photo of the veteran. The veteran honored can be living or deceased. The cost to purchase a 30-inch X 60-inch banner is $150. Banners will be displayed from Memorial Day to Veterans Day.
