PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that the Town Board of the Town of Verona, New York,
will conduct a public hearing at the Verona Town Hall, 6600 Germany Road, Durhamville, New
York, on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 6:15 p.m., to consider the amendment of Local Law No. 1 of
2023 which permits and regulates All-Terrain Vehicles operations on certain public roads in the
Town of Verona pursuant to the authority granted in Section 2405 of the Vehicle and Traffic
Law of the State of New York. The purpose of this Local Law is to designate additional Town
roads, or portions thereof, as open to travel by ATV’s in order for the ATV’s to gain access to
areas and/or trails adjacent thereto which would otherwise be impossible to access without the
use of such town highways, and to provide lawful operators of All-Terrain Vehicles suitable
locations for their use. This Local Law is meant to discourage unsafe operation and unlawful
trespass upon public lands managed by the NYS Department of Conservation and upon private
lands. The town roadways, or portions thereof, that are proposed to be added and designated as
open to travel by All-Terrain Vehicles are: Sarenski Road (1/2 mile); Snyder Road (.69 mile);
Sand Hill Road (1 mile); Rock Road (.159 miles); and Dwyer Road (.317 miles).
Copies of the proposed Local Law to be considered, together with copies of maps
showing the trails and the stretches of the additional roadways proposed to be open to ATV use,
will be made available at the Town of Verona Town Clerk’s Office, 6600 Germany Road,
Durhamville, New York.
The public is invited to attend and all interested persons will be heard at said time and
place.
